What Is a Florida Apostille?
An apostille is an official certification issued by the Florida Department of State that authenticates the origin of a public document for use in foreign countries. Under the Hague Convention of 1961, an apostille makes your Florida document legally recognized in over 120 countries without requiring further legalization or embassy authentication.
Florida can only apostille documents that were either issued by a Florida authority (like birth certificates, marriage certificates, or diplomas from Florida institutions) or documents that have been notarized by a commissioned Florida notary public. This includes notarized translations, powers of attorney, affidavits, and corporate documents.
Florida Translate handles the entire apostille process for you, from notarization (if needed) to filing with the Florida Department of State. We offer expedited 72-hour processing and regular 2-week service, along with secure shipping options to return your apostilled documents anywhere in the world.

The Apostille Process
Please select type of document you need to apostille or view the acceptable documents guide.
Apostille for original notarized documents
Before proceeding with the apostille process, you must have your document notarized. The document can be in a foreign language, but the notarization must be in English and it must be a full notarial statement. Please view our acceptable document guide to ensure that your document is correctly notarized.
You can also complete the notarization online with a RON Florida Notary Public. Florida Translate offers remote online notarization powered through BlueNotary. You can select the remote notary option when checking out.
Alternatively, you can complete the notarization in person. Most banks will offer free in-person notarizations for clients. UPS/Amscot/USPS also offer in-person notarization services. If you opt for the in-person notarization you must send the original documents to us. We will provide you with a complimentary pre-paid shipping label after your order has been submitted. You may drop off the original document with the label provided at the nearest UPS Store or pick up location.
After we receive the document, it will be processed by our office. The process takes 72 business hours with the expedited processing, or 1-2 weeks with the regular processing.
